The Core CPI indicator is a calculation of inflation in the consumer basket, but without particularly mobile inflationary components — electricity, fuel and foodstuffs. Since these three measures can vary in price quickly, depend on a number of situational and seasonal factors, they are cut off to get a clear indicator of inflation. Thus, together with CPI you can immediately see the value in its core that helps to understand how inflation has changed over the reporting period.
