A large value of the indicator can talk about "overheating" of the economy, when consumers take more credits than it is necessary for normal living. A too high level of credits can lead to a recession in the long term if the consumer is too burdened by the loan and will have to reduce consumption or to leave the debt to a financier in case of bankruptcy.
It has a limited impact on the market.
